Meet Ryan

Ryan served 20 years in the U.S. Air Force as an Air Traffic Controller and is now retired from active duty. He is an Air Force JROTC teacher in Sacramento by day but is thrilled to spend his non-workdays at various racetracks around California. Motorcycles of all types have been his passion for as long as he can remember, especially growing up with grandparents that owned a Suzuki dealership (I think his grandfather would roll over in his grave if he knew we were partnered with Kawasaki).

Ryan was initially a textbook “SQUID” when he first started riding on the road when he was stationed in Las Vegas. He really learned the ropes of road riding when he moved to Italy. He made “quick” friends with a phenomenal group of highly skilled riders from the Desmo Owners Club (DOC) of Pordenone, Italy who mentored him out of the SQUID phase and taught him how not only to survive on a high powered sportbike but also how to do it safely and effectively. His first track day was Ducati sponsored event with the group in 2001 at little track in Adria, Italy and he has been hooked ever since.

Ryan has been paying the kindness and education of DOC Pordenone forward as a mentor rider, motorcycle safety representative for the Air Force, as the Safety Officer for the Sacramento DOC, and as an on-track coach for our partner Fun Track Dayz.

Ryan has raced motocross, desert, enduro and was just awarded his Expert Road Racing License with the American Federation of Motorcyclists (AFM) and will be running #100 for his first expert year. His motorcycles include the first bike that he got on his 3rd birthday, a Suzuki JR50, Yamaha YZ60, Suzuki DS80, KTM 350, Ninja 250, Ninja 500, Katana 600, Ninja ZX9R, Ducati 996s, BMW R1100s, CRF450X, Monster 620ie, BMW R1150RT, Ducati Multistrada Enduro 1200, Yamaha R6 (x2) and of course the Ninja 400!

"I've ridden dozens of motorcycles in my life, the Ninja 400 is one of the most fun I think I've ever had on a bike." ~Ryan
